MEETING NOTES FOR PEOPLE FOR PEACE, JUSTICE, AND HEALING
February 16, 2008

People for Peace, Justice and Healing met at Associated Ministries at 10 a.m. on February 16. Present for check-in were Karen, Karen, Sallie, Nancy, Sol, Sheila, Kyle, and Mark. Check-in and general discussion.

AGENDA

1. Palestine: Nancy
Discussion by Nancy of the Free Gaza Movement. Money is being collected to move boats into Gaza to take the people food and supplies. Information about this effort can be found at friends@freegaza.org and www.freegaza.org -- Much is happening locally around the Palestinian issue. Treye McIntyre will present material from his trip to Palestine/Israel in 2007 at Guadalupe House on Wednesday, Feb. 20. Treye is returning to Palestine in April, hopes to stay and work for a year and learn Arabic. Nancy is also working on the March 4, 7:00 p.m. visit at the First Congregational Church of Dr. Abdelfattah Abusrour from the Aida Refugee Camp in Bethlehem, Palestine. A play by his students will be shown at Lincoln Center. (See announcements for more...) Sallie gave Nancy important tips for publicizing the event. Karen, Sheila and Karen offered to show at the church at 6 p.m. to help Nancy with host/hostess duties and an information table. Mark will help with technical/projector, etc. needs.

2. Our Dinner With Andre: Sallie
Sallie needs help collecting floor lamps, tablecloths, centerpieces, decor, silverware, glasses, et al. Please see/talk to Sallie.
