MEETING NOTES FOR PEOPLE FOR PEACE, JUSTICE, AND HEALING

February 19, 2011

SPECIAL NOTE: Next Saturday's meeting will be at the Beyond the Bridge.

People for Peace, Justice and Healing met February 19, 2011, at Beyond the Bridge at 10:00 a.m. Present for check-in were: Sallie, Mark, Sol, Ray, Rob, Sheila, Karen, and Colleen in absentia. First check-in: Sallie read us an update from Colleen who's daughter was reported as doing well. Discussion. Discussion of the destruction of Bedouin septic tanks by IDF.

AGENDA

1. PJH Meeting Place (Karen)
Finding a "permanent" meeting place continues as both Carl and Nancy reported having difficulty hearing at Bridge. Karen reported that after talking to both Bix and Joe Power Drutis that Jean's house will be too busy in the coming month and a half with the Plowshares Five sentencing date set for March 28. Out-of-town visitors are expected and there will be much traffic at Jean's House. Possibilities remain post the sentencing date. Other possibilities discussed: Proctor library, other library branches.

2. City Sister Film Fest (Sallie)
This coming Thursday the film "O Jerusalem" will be at the Blue Mouse from sister city Kiryat-Motzkin, Israel. Discussion of plans to leaflet re: Israel/Palestinian issues. Discussion included a brief synopsis of the movie (the time period of the movie is '47 and '48 and is centered on the friendship of a young Palestinian and a young Jew); approaches the leaflet might take, timing of leafleting, last year's experience with leafleting.

Respectully submitted,
Karen
