ANNOUNCEMENTS

1. DIGGING DEEPER READS NIALL FERGUSON'S THE ASCENT OF MONEY (Mark).
On Mon., Mar. 2, at 7:00 p.m., UFPPC's study circle, Digging Deeper, will examine Niall Ferguson's The Ascent of Money: A Financial History of the World (Penguin Press, 2008), at the Mandolin Cafe, 3928 S. 12th St., Tacoma, from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

2. GROUND ZERO ACTION (Sallie)
On Sunday, Mar. 1, to mark PACIFIC ISLANDER DAY and the anniversary of the U.S. detonation of a nuclear test bomb over Bikini Atoll, the Pacific Life Community is organizing an action at Trident Main Gate at Bangor. This schedule has been posted: 10:30am - Arrive at Ground Zero (time to look around); 11 am - Circle at Ground Zero, including brown-bag lunch; noon - Procession (or carpool) to Trident Main Gate; 12:30pm - Ritual at Main Gate; 12:45pm - Nonviolent Direct Action. Wait for resisters’release until 1:30. 2:00pm - Closing circle at Ground Zero. Finished by 2:30; locals help travelers reach departure points. See web site for more information.

3. TIM SMITH SPEAKS AT HILLSIDE (Vivi)
On Sun., Mar. 8, Tim Smith will speak on Christianity, immigration, and the Northwest Detention Center at the Hillside Community Community Church, 2508 S. 39th St., Tacoma, WA.
