People for Peace, Justice, and Healing met on April 7, 2012, at 10:00 a.m. at the Antique Sandwich Company in Ruston.  Present for check-in were Colleen, Sol, Sheila, Mark, and Carl.

1. ABED ABUSROUR (Sallier)
Abed Abusrour, the executive director of Al Rowwad Cultural and Theater Center. will speak at Fircrest United Methodist Church, 1018 Columbia, Fircrest, on Wed., May 2, 2012 at 7:30 p.m.  He runs this independent, non-political, and non-governmental association in the Aida refugee camp in Bethlehem.  Founded in 1988 by Dr. Abdelfattah Abu Srour and some residents of Aida camp, the grassroots organization is run by and for the community to combat violence among children by teaching them to be promoters of peace.  The Centerís general assembly includes residents of the camp as well other local Bethlehem neighborhoods.  This event is sponsored by the Tacoma chapter of Jewish Voice for Peace.
