Fundraiser: Solstice, June 21
Persian poetry, cooking by Mohsen -- plans are underway for a Solstice celebration at Burk Ketchum's place on June 21, co-sponsored by PJH and UFPPC. Tickets -- $30 donation per person. Upper limit: 150. More details and appeals for volunteer help to come.

CALENDAR

Lynn Greenwald will appear in court, Wednesday, May 5, 1 P.M. for sentencing re: her action at Bangor. Vigil outside the Federal Courthouse Building at noon. Vigil for Lynn at noon.

May 6 - A delegation of Japanese citizens (41 people!) will be meeting with our Mayor on the morning of May 6. On the UWT campus, Phillip's Hall in the Millguard (sp.) Room, from 12:30 to 1:30 there will be two speakers from the delegation' a Hibakusha (victim of the bombing 64 years ago) and a person speaking on the Non-Proliferation Treaty meeting in New York at the UN this month.

Digging Deeper: Meets Monday evenings, 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at Mandolin Cafe. For Monday, May 10 - Derivatives - Simon Johnson and James Kwak's 13 Bankers: The Wall Street Takeover and the Next Financial Meltdown and Michael Lewis, The Big Short: Inside the Doomsday Machine.
