We sadly transmit word of the death last weekend of Al Kammerzell, for many years a presence at PJH meetings. Alfred Kammerzell was born and raised in Eastern Washington. He graduated from Eastern Washington College with B.A. degrees in Language Arts and Education. Al was a Federal Civil Service retiree and a co-founder of the group Puget Sound Poetry Connection. His work appeared in the anthologies Dark Orchid and Earthrise. He also published in the journal Raven Chronicles and many issues of the journal Moonthorne Tapestry. Al possessed an indomitable spirit and devoted much of his time in his later years to antiwar and peace work. A memorial will be held at the Tahoma Unitarian Universalist Congregation, 1115 S. 56th, Tacoma WA 98408, on Saturday, May 30, 2009, at 10:00 a.m. . Sympathy cards may be addressed to the family: Mr. and Mrs. Claude Kammerzell and Paul, 4214 80th Ave W., University Place, WA 98466.
