MEETING NOTES FOR PEOPLE FOR PEACE, JUSTICE, AND HEALING

People for Peace, Justice and Healing met Saturday, July 3, 2010, at Associated Ministries at 10 a.m.

Present for check-in: Rob, Mark, Sheila, Colleen, Carl, and Sol.

Much discussion of how the modalities of our lives are being affected by the connectivity of personal computers, telephones, MP3 players, audio equipment, televisions, calculators, GPS automotive navigation systems, digital cameras, and other consumer electronics devices.

AGENDA

1. SUMMER SOLSTICE EVENT FINANCES: Mark
Final accounting from the June 21 event: Receipts: $3000.00 Expenses: $400.00 Net: $2600.00 ($1300.00 for UFPPC and $1300.00 for PPJH).

2. LATE SUMMER GATHERING: Mark
UFPPC has proposed a joint UFPPC-PPJH late summer gathering on Aug. 29 and is prospecting for an appropriate site. PPJH approved date and concept.

3. G20 SECURITY FORCE ABUSES: Mark
Discussion of the recent G20 meeting in Toronto.

4. ABSINTHE EVENING: Carl
Carl proposed and the meeting embraced the idea of convening for a no-discussion-of-front-page-current-events evening of (optional) absinthe on Thursday evening, July 8, beginning at 7:30 p.m., at "1022 South", the now not-so-new hip bar in Tacoma located at 1022 South "J" St. (between S. 10th and S. 11th). Ground rules: cultural/intellectual/philosophical topics only! This is the only written invitation you will receive. Be there! (If you want to.)
