1. DEBRIEF — FOURTH OF JULY ANTIWAR VIGIL (Sallie S., Nancy, Mark)
Members of PPJH and other groups maintained a 10:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. antiwar vigil at the corner of McCarver and North 30th St. on the Fourth of July. Passers-by offered many expressions of support, as well as occasional expressions of disagreement.

2. 21st-CENTURY DEMOCRACY (Terry)
Far-ranging discussion of contemporary democracy.

1. UFPPC'S BOOK DISCUSSION GROUP ON TERROR AND CONSENT CONCLUDES ON JUNE 30 & JULY 7 (Mark J.)
On Monday, July 7, Digging Deeper concludes its discussion of Philip Bobbitt's Terror and Consent: The Wars for the Twenty-First Century (Knopf, 2008). There will be a break in meetings to allow for a fourth-anniversary "Bastille Day Luau" party celebrating the group's fourth anniversary. On July 21 and 28, Digging Deeper LII will discuss "David Ray Griffin's Challenge to 9/11 Orthodoxy," examining Prof. Griffin's two latest volumes, 9/11 Contradictions: An Open Letter to Congress and the Press (Olive Branch Press, March 2008) and Debunking 9/11 Debunking: An Answer to Popular Mechanics and Other Defenders of the Official Conspiracy Theory (Olive Branch Press, March 2007). Digging Deeper meets Mondays from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Mandolin Café (3923 S. 12th St., Tacoma).
