AGENDA

1. Stewart Brand's Whole Earth Discipline: An Ecopragmatist Manifesto (2009) (Mark)
Discussion of Stewart Brand and some of the controversial positions of this "very scary book by a very bright man" (Edward O. Wilson). NOTE: This book will be discussed at UFPPC's Digging Deeper at 7:00 p.m. on Mon., Jul. 19, 2010, at the Mandolin Cafe, 3923 S. 12th St., Tacoma.

2. Local peace groups (Nancy)
Discussion of the organization and coordination of local peace groups.

3. Returning soldiers (Susan)
Discussion of the repatriation of soldiers returning from overseas.

4. Picnic on Aug. 29 (Mark)
UFPPC has paid a $100 fee to reserve the picnic site at Fort Nisqually for an August 29 picnic and party to be co-sponsored by PJH.

ANNOUNCEMENTS

1. Kent Alcorn, who participated in PJH, died on July 3, 2010. Kent's memorial will take the form of a pot-luck picnic in Wright Park on Sat., Aug. 14, 2010, beginning at noon. See here for an account of Kent's life and some testimonials in his memory.
