Saturday, October 30, 2004 Meeting Notes for People for Peace, Justice, and Healing

People for Peace, Justice and Healing met at 10:00 a.m. at Associated Ministries on October 30, 2004. Present for check-in were: Mark, Rob, Karens K & H, Vivi, Kyle and Sheila. Discussion: Guess what? ...George Bush and the end of the Age of Reason.

AGENDA

CONVERSATION CAFE: Karen H & K, and whoever else is so inclined, will show up at the Mandolin to talk to anyone who shows up. We have not planned a specific question for election night.

Discussion of questions in general. Mark brought a sheet of 25 possible questions. Mark is leaving for France on Thursday and will be gone for 5 weeks.

Discussion of facilitators. Karen K. suggested we try to shorten the first two rounds. They are taking time from round three -- the general discussion round. Group agrees to try to keep first two rounds within about 40 minutes, giving 30 minutes or so for general discussion. We talked about our tendancy to start late. It was decided we remind participants that our starting time is 7:00. We are also going to try and keep our groups smaller, so each person has more time to talk and to invite late comers into a group of their own. There was a discussion of the potential for distraction when people join a group after the group has started. Karen passed around a calendar so that people could commit to specific dates.
