People for Peace, Justice and Healing met May 22, 2010, at Associated Ministries. Present for check-in: Rob, Mark, Nancy, Sheila, Sallie, Karen. The lively opening discussion considered among other relevant concerns oil spills and immigration law,

AGENDA: Nancy and Mark
Discussion of UFPPC and PJH coming Solstice fundraiser at Burk Ketchum's - June 21, 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Nancy has surveyed the field in search of dinner utensils that will be "compostable." Discussion of where Cedar Grove products might be found locally. (Staff person at UPS says they don't use the product.) Simple, unwaxed paper plates discussed as disposable. Rob is donating "Chinet" (sp) a recycled paper product. (Discussion continues.) The beautiful tickets are now available and members present "checked out" tickets to sell. The evening will include food, wine, music, poetry and guest, Abdi Sami, filmmaker for Rick Steves. Posters coming.

Several members present were adjourning to bi-lingual community forum on Immigration, UWT Campus, at 1 p.m. following the meeting. Presented by Progressive Roundtable and co-sponsored by UWT IAS, New Sanctuary Movement, Students for Sustainable Social Change, UWT Latino Student Organization, UWT Psychology Club and Tahoma Organizer
