MEETING NOTES FOR PEOPLE FOR PEACE, JUSTICE, AND HEALING

People for Peace, Justice and Healing met on October 2, 2010, at 10:00 a.m. at Associated Ministries. Present for check-in: Colleen, Mark, Nancy, Karen, Sallie, Sheila and Carl, following a general discussion of current affairs.

Colleen asked citizens that have any concerns with the local TPD to see her about presentation to the Citizen Board.

Although Sallie has retired from her position at Associated Ministries -- Paint Tacoma Beautiful -- we will continue meeting Saturday mornings, 10:00 a.m. at Associated Ministries. They have graciously provided us a place to keep our amenities -- coffee cups, etc. for meetings.

Nancy Farrell has been registering new voters and asks anyone available to help out in the next few days -- the deadline is Tuesday for people who want to register to vote to have the ballot mailed to their homes, but you can still register to vote for a few more weeks (but that voter will have to go to their polling place to vote). Nancy needs people to help register voters for the next couple of weeks; contact her at nfarrellvt@yahoo.com

Monday night at the Mandolin: Pandora's Seed: The Unforeseen Cost of Civilization, by Spencer Wells (2010) -- 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. with Mark; Ron Boothe will lead the discussion.

Respectfully submitted,
Karen
