Suggestion: Seek a reporter such as Mike Gilbert (with Stryker Unit) of the TNT to talk about his experience as a reporter in Iraq - how he feels he is influenced by his proximity to the troops and how his identification with them might color his reporting. General discussion of media. Mark told us that the UFPPC website now has a link with the local press.

BILL OF RIGHTS ORDNANCE: Mark read his letter(s) to City Council members thanking them for their approval of the Ordnance of the Bill of Rights which was passed (7-1) at the last Council meeting. Members present each signed the letter(s). Sallie is going to write a letter on our behalf thanking Tim Smith for all the effort he has put into bringing this issue successfully before the Council.

VIGIL ON CHRISTMAS EVE
Members are encouraged to re-visit our Vigil site at the Federal Building for a candle light vigil on Christmas Eve at 5:00 p.m. Bring signs and candles.

Discussion of Cheney visit to our area (Bellevue and McCord) this coming Monday. Discussion about whether we should try a noon vigil at the McCord Gate. Members decide it's too late to prepare a forceful show. General discussion of the war, the current administration, possible future actions (for the peace movement).

Vivi: Two women from Iraq will be speaking at 7 p.m. on Monday, December 22, at Hillside. A large audience is hoped for.
